Dangote Group signs on to the Riskonnect solution brought to you by thryve
The Dangote Group – which is run by Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote – has just signed onto the Riskonnect system. The Group has interests in the cement, sugar, salt, flour and semolina, pasta, noodles, poly products, logistics and real estate sectors with business dealings in – among others – Nigeria, Benin, Ethiopia, Senegal, Cameroon, Ghana, South Africa, Togo, Tanzania and Zambia. In 2015, the Group generated US$3 billion (approximately R43 billion) and has the vision of uplifting the standard of living of the people of the countries that they operate in as well as providing high returns to stakeholders of their companies.
As with any business, which has multiple operations sites, it becomes vital to manage risk and mitigation specific to the logistics industry. This is where Riskonnect comes in. “With an effective implementation of a good Risk Management Information System” says Riaan Bekker: Riskonnect Solutions Manager at thryve, “a risk manager will be able to – among others – identify cost drivers, measure escalating cost trends, minimise overall claims handling costs and provide accurate and timely feedback to management”.
What functionality does Riskonnect have?
Riskonnect – which is the leading enterprise-class technology platform for the risk management industry – consists of four very powerful modules:
- Risk Management Information System (RMIS),
- Environmental Health and Safety (EHS),
- Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC), and
- Healthcare Risk Management and Patient Safety (HEALTHCARE).
The RMIS module – which Dangote have opted to go for – has a number of features that will help business manage risk more successfully. For example:
- Claims Management,
- Claims Administration,
- Policy and Programme Management,
- Incident Intake, and
- Dashboards and Reporting.
With Riskonnect RMIS, manual management of company risk is reduced – if not totally done away with – which means that processes such as insurance claims management and administration become seamless, so eliminating the chance of error.
